At St. Joseph Consolidated School, our Catholic identity is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to nurturing the spiritual growth of each child while fostering a strong sense of community, compassion, and service to others.

Weekly Mass & Liturgical Involvement
Our school gathers weekly to celebrate Mass together as a school community. These liturgies are a cherished time for prayer, reflection, and unity in Christ. Students play an active role in each Mass, with opportunities to:

  • Serve as altar servers
  • Participate in our school choir
  • Proclaim the Word as lectors
  • Assist as Eucharistic Ministers, once Confirmed

Through these roles, students grow in confidence, leadership, and a deeper connection to their faith.

Daily Religion Instruction
Each day, students engage in religion classes designed to build a strong foundation in Catholic teaching, tradition, and Scripture. Lessons incorporate prayer, reflection, and meaningful discussion, helping students understand and live out their faith in daily life. We follow a developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with the teachings of the Catholic Church and the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.

Big & Little Buddy Program
To provide two years of consistency for our students, our Big & Little Buddy Program begins by pairing our 7th grade students with kindergarten students. These pairings follow students into their 8th grade and 1st grade years. Buddies sit together during Mass, providing guidance and support to our younger students. Additionally, Buddies will meet monthly to read together. Our Big & Little Buddy tradition encourages leadership in our older students and fosters a strong sense of community and belonging across grade levels.

Living Out Our Faith Through Service
Service is a vital expression of our Catholic values. Throughout the school year, students participate in age-appropriate service projects that benefit our parish, local community, and beyond. From food drives and care packages to helping those in need, our students learn the importance of compassion, empathy, and action.

17STRONG
St. Joseph is proud to be the first parochial school to partner with 17STRONG, Hamilton's official neighborhood advocacy group. This organization is anchored by community volunteers and city officials who help highlight and uplift the identity of Hamilton’s 17 neighborhoods through regular meetings, events, grants, and outreach.

Our students have been given the opportunity to provide service opportunities to our school neighborhood, Riverview. Fifth and sixth grade students have partnered with 17STRONG and recently received a mini-grant to support four different service projects! These projects will assist with citizen engagement, enhance neighborhood beautification, and address neighborhood needs and aspirations.
