Welcome to St. Joseph Consolidated School! With five years of prior teaching experience in Hamilton City Schools, I first came to SJCS in August of 1998. I taught sixth grade for five years, and then I taught physical education and music on a part-time basis for eight years as I raised my two young children. When they were of school age, I went back to teaching full-time in my current fifth grade position. This is my fifth year in fifth grade, and I love having the opportunity to teach my students in the inclusive setting that is St. Joe's.
I must admit that when my husband began helping me unload all of the boxes of "teacher stuff" and move into my new classroom way back in 1998, he took one look at the neighborhood and asked me if I was sure I wanted to be here. I was sure. St. Joseph was calling me to do God's work in a very welcoming environment with a staff that truly cares about individuals. SJCS is my home. If you are someone new to St. Joseph, you will experience the same kind of welcoming feeling I did seventeen years ago when you first walk into our building. We are Hamilton's best known secret! My own children attend SJCS and are receiving an excellent education as well as becoming good, Christians. Give us a call, and come in for a visit. Then maybe you, too, will soon call us "home!"
