It is time for our families to fill out EdChoice/Jon Peterson Scholarship papers for the 2024-25 school year. Parents may fill out these forms and return them to the school office. Each family must provide a proof of address. These can be sent back with the papers or emailed directly to Theresa Stenger at [email protected] If you feel you need assistance with filling out paperwork, St. Joseph Consolidated School is scheduling appointments on Wednesday 2/21/24 after school for our EdChoice and Jon Peterson. Each family that attends a session needs to bring proof of address to your appointment.
Important Notes below:
- The Educational Choice Expansion Scholarship (EdChoice) Program provides students from designated public schools the opportunity to attend participating private schools. The EdChoice Expansion Program is an income-based program. It provides scholarships to students in grades K–12 based on household income level.
- Scholarships for EdChoice Expansion are awarded based on the Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of a family’s household. If a family’s household income is at or below 450 percent of the Federal Poverty Level, they will be awarded the maximum scholarship amount. If a family’s household income is at or above 451 percent of the Federal Poverty Level, the student’s scholarship award will be prorated based on the chart found under EdChoice Expansion Resources.
- Families must enter income information in an online Scholarship Income Verification System. The system is available for families to enter and submit their income information electronically to the Office of Nonpublic Educational Options for verification. Parents are able to enter household member information, income information and upload supporting income documents directly into the online system. More detailed instructions can be found under EdChoice Expansion Resources.
- If you do not have an existing OH|ID, you may create an account at https://safe.ode.state.oh.us/portal and login using the Open My Apps button on the Portal Help page. After you login, under Web Systems, click Application Request. Change the Application to Income Verification in the dropdown box and click submit*. After a moment your screen should reload with access to the Income Verification tile. *If the dropdown box under Membership Requested is blank or does not let you move forward, first request Scholarship under Application and then request Income Verification
- Parents should fill out these forms and return them to the school office.
- Each family must provide a proof of address. These can be sent back with the papers or emailed directly to Theresa Stenger at [email protected]
- Parents that are renewing EdChoice Expansion do not need to provide proof of income. Parents should have created a portal in the system so that the family can check the status of the application.
- The State has moved up deadlines for schools so all applications need to be into the school office by Friday, March 8, 2024.
- When parents receive their approval letter they MUST return this to school immediately for us to complete the submission process.
- All of this must be completed by the first day of school for 24-25 for St. Joseph to receive payment. If it is delayed, parents are responsible to pay until approval is completed.
Please review the available slots below and click on the link to sign up. We will be working with 5 families at one time in the office. If you wish to have a private session or have any questions please contact Theresa Stenger.
