EdChoice Letter from Ms. Conrad

Hello Bluejay Families,

We have received an additional update regarding the EdChoice Expansion Scholarship program which will benefit all K-8 households to some capacity. Since our last email Governor DeWine has signed the state budget passed by the Ohio House and Senate. Because of this, ALL families can apply for a scholarship!

Students whose family’s household adjusted gross income is at or below 450% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) will be eligible for an EdChoice Expansion Scholarship. The amount of this scholarship will be $6,165 for K-8 students. Students whose family’s household adjusted gross income is at 451% or higher will receive a scholarship based on a sliding scale determined by the Ohio Department of Education (see below). It is important to know that St. Joseph does not determine the amount of the scholarship. Families are responsible for the difference between the EdChoice Scholarship they receive and the cost of tuition and fees.

If you have already applied/renewed for the 2023-24 school year, you do not need to apply again. If you are already on the Traditional EdChoice Scholarship, you do not need to apply again.

Do not send Income verification to St. Joseph as we are not able to submit that for families.

Income verification is required to determine the scholarship amount awarded. It is only required in the first year of application. Income verification will only be required in subsequent years if a family’s income has dropped, and you would like to see if you qualify for a higher level of the scholarship award. Also, if the family income is at or below 200% you will need to submit income verification every year.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions. We are more than happy to schedule times to meet and assist with this process!

Thank you,

Whitney Conrad
