I graduated from Morehead State University with a bachelors in Elementary Education (grades K-3)in 2006. I returned to school to receive my license as an intervention specialist and graduated from Miami University in 2013 with a Masters in Psychology of Education. I have been with St. Joseph for 10 years. I taught 1st grade for 5 years and now work through Hamilton City Schools and teach students through intervention grades K-8. I provide services to students on a Service Plan (students who are receiving specially designed instruction) as well as students who qualify for the RTI (Response to Intervention) program. I work mainly with students to increase reading fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension growth through the Reading A to Z program as well as Orton Gillingham/Phonics Dance instruction in grades 1 and 2. I also have 10 grandma volunteers that come in on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to make this program more individualized and help it be a very successful program. I also provide additional supports with math and writing.
