24-25 Arrival & Dismissal Instructions

Student Arrival

• Parents must remain in vehicles when dropping students off to school in the morning. 
• Please pull into one of the marked lanes to unload students.
• Please use the lane closest to the door if your child needs assistance 
• Mrs. Schappacher, Mrs. Harding and Mrs. Zboril, (or other staff members) will be outside to assist students into the building.
• Please review the procedure with your child prior to the first day of school to keep our students safe and healthy.

Student Dismissal

• There is a  sign up is for families picking their children up from school everyday or on a regular schedule.  This time slot will be a permanent time for pick up. 
• The first time slot of 2:05 p.m. will be for Preschool All day students pick up only.  If you have students to pick up in grades K-8 please do not choose this time slot.
• Students and teachers will dismiss from the auditorium.
• PA announcements will call students to come to the appropriate door/exit, using the appropriate stairs

Parent Pick Up Dismissal

• Parents/guardians arriving to pick up students at the end of the day will be required to remain in their cars. We ask parents and students to refrain from socializing in the parking lot.
• Please do not arrive to pick up students before your assigned pick up time.

School Office Email

The office is defining an “occasional” pick up as a spontaneous pick up, not a regularly scheduled pickup. Because Office Staff will be in the dismissal process,  please contact the office by 1:30 p.m. to add your child to the pick up list. Due to our procedure and to ensure the safety of all children, there will be NO exceptions to the 1:30 rule. 

• Parents will be given a sign to hang from your car mirror with the student’s last name. It will be color coded for your pick up time. This sign serves as “permission” for your child to enter into the vehicle. Please make sure the sign is in the appropriate car for pick up.  

• Any students added to the pickup list will be added in the last time slot.  Parents must call the office by 1:30 p.m. to change transportation. 
• Please enter the parking lot from Hanover Street.  Cars will line up in a row 7 or 8 across in 2 rows.  
• A staff member will direct you to where to park.  Please follow their directions.

• A staff member, with a safety vest, will be in the parking lot using the walkie talkies to call students down in the first row, then call the second row.  Students will then be escorted to the designated car by staff members.  
• When everyone is in their car, another staff member, with a safety vest, will release the row to exit on 2nd Street and then the second row will pull up and repeat the process.  

• Then the next group of cars can follow in behind to make another row.  

Bus Rider Dismissal

• Students riding buses will be dismissed to the gym and be called for dismissal as buses arrive.
• They will come to the Hanover Street exit.  Staff will check off and supervise the students during boarding.
